Bluetooth is a prominent feature for connecting other devices to your iPhone wirelessly. But the good days are when they work. While the ” iPhone 8 Bluetooth not detecting devices” problems can be from your phone or the device you’re trying to connect, the solutions below will surely help you fix the problem.

How to fix iPhone eight / iPhone 8 plus not detecting Bluetooth devices Issue

First, kindly restart your iPhone and the device you’re trying to connect, then try the steps below.

1) Proximity of the Devices you are trying to connect via Bluetooth

A problem associated with iPhone 8 all iPhone 8 plus Bluetooth not discovering devices is the closeness of the devices with which you are trying to establish a two-way Bluetooth connection. The minimum spectrum for a strong connection during Bluetooth pairing is 20 meters, provided there’s no obstruction to lessen its range. When there are Bluetooth pairing problems on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, ensure they’re in close range with the device you’re trying to connect.

You shouldn’t experience this if you’re trying to pair up the AirPods you’re holding, but make sure you’re close enough if you’re trying to connect with a Bluetooth device in a far distance, such as your home speakers, etc.

2) Ensure Your Bluetooth is Turned On

Is the Bluetooth feature on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 plus turned on? Kindly check it now. Also, do the same for the device you’re trying to connect with. On iPhone 8, you can simply check that from the Control Center. Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then locate and turn on the Bluetooth icon. After that, ensure the device you’re trying to connect is active.

One quick way to fix that is to restart the device. Say you want to pair up your new Bluetooth headphones, for instance, try powering it down and turning it on again. Most devices will make a sound or start blinking lights when they’re on. Restart your iPhone as well, and try the pairing process again to see if it works out.

3) Remove Old Bluetooth Connections

Whilst your iPhone is ready to connect with new devices but unable to establish a static connection, try removing the old and long-term paired devices on your list. It may hinder devices from accumulating new connections because of long threads of previously paired devices. Remove unused devices to pave way for new ones. You can do this on your iPhone 8 with the steps below.

Open settings and tap bluetooth. From there, you’ll see the Paired Device
Locate a device you no longer need, then tap the i icon next to it.
Finally, tap Forget this device to remove the device from your iPhone.

4) Update iOS

Similar to some other software-related issues on iOS devices, a bug in the software may cause your iPhone not to detect Bluetooth devices. Here, you may need to install any pending update for your iPhone. To do this:
Open Settings.
Scroll down and tap ‘General’
Select ‘Software Update’
Follow the on-screen instructions to install any pending updates.

Connections on most Bluetooth devices are only limited to another device at a specific time. When your device is synced with the other device, the connection should be cut off before a connection can be established with other devices.

So, if you have any other devices around, ensure you turn off their Bluetooth feature before and restart the connection process.

6) Reset network settings

Finally, if none of the methods above makes Bluetooth detect devices on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 plus, we recommend you reset the network settings. This will restore the default connection settings on your phone and also remove all paired Bluetooth devices. Open Settings
Scroll down and tap General
