I wole to the black screen of death. I thought it might have been that it ran ou to battery. But when I plugged the charger in I could feel the vibration.
So I tried the restart method and after a couple of goes it worked. I then went through the updates for my apps.
I had left 5 apps open over night and one of them was Messenger, which I updated.
Hopefully that was the only problem that is now fixed.
